Hoosier Glass Salt Box
late 19th century

$65

  • This large open SALT DIP was originally sold as part of a canister set that came with Hoosier style kitchen cabinets sold in the 1920s and 1930s. It was used to hold copious amounts of course ground salt necessary for large cooking tasks like brining meat. They are seeing a revival with todays's enthusiastic cooks who are bringing back the popularity of coarse ground salts.
