Antique NIPPON Vase
Hand Painted & Gilded
Blue Maple Leaf Mark
Beautiful Condition!
c. 1891 ~ 1915

$245

This authentic antique Victorian era handpainted porcelain vase was purchased during the late 1970s from the estate of a local porcelain and art pottery collector. It is in fabulous condition with no damage and negligible signs of wear. Of particular note is that the decoration encompasses the entire vase making the vase an ideal piece to be placed in order to be viewed from all angles. The generous amount of hand applied gilt on this vase is stunnning.

The word Nippon translates to the word 'Japan', the country known as the land of the rising sun. The maple leaf mark found on this piece was first issued by the Morimura Brothers in 1891 and was used until 1915.

  • production date: c.1891 ~ 1915
